Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional grooming products, has a challenging opportunity for a Tool Room Supervisor at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for managing all molding tool room personnel and supporting all related operational objectives of safety, cost, quality, delivery & morale of the team. These responsibilities include the identification and assignment of priorities, project management activities, new tool acquisitions, capital equipment expenditures, training, mentoring and daily supervisory responsibilities. General daily activities of this individual and his/her staff include building, maintaining, and repairing, molds, fixtures and various tools & machines that support the manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. This position is responsible for creating and managing a qualified and dedicated team that will build, maintain, and repair, molds, dies, fixtures and various tools or machines for Sterling manufacturing in a timely & effective manner working in close coordination with operations, engineering, maintenance & quality departments.
2. The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities of tool room employees related to molds. This individual prioritizes, schedules, and manages resources designed to meet all internal customer expectations. He/she is responsible for ensuring that jobs are completed satisfactorily and on schedule.

1. Properly staffs and manages the Tool Room employees according to company policy. Ensures that tooling is robust, reliable, cost effective, dimensionally stable and capable of meeting all validation requirements associated with medical device manufacturing operations. Additionally, this position must be aware of annual capacity requirements and ensure the capability to support manufacturing initiatives associated with all customer contractual requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Creates and manages a team of Tool Room employees qualified to perform work necessary to fill orders on schedule.
2. Schedules and prioritizes work to ensure that internal customer expectations are met and/or exceeded.
3. Effectively staffs and manages Tool Room personnel according to Wahl company policy.
4. Responsible for keeping accurate and up to date reports.
5. Establishes and maintains KPI's critical to efficiency and continuous improvement.
6. Establish Autonomous maintenance procedures & processes to keep the tool room equipment to the best of the efficiency.
7. Performs other work as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of five years' work experience in injection molding operations, with three years minimum in supervision.
• Education level of journeyman mold maker with five years management experience or four-year technical degree with experience in business or management preferred.
• The individual shall have excellent supervisor, organizational, communication and people skills.
