Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the Wahl supplier quality program. This role is responsible for the tactical and systematic management of supplier quality assurance at the source. Working closely with all function areas, the SQE will drive improvements in the PPAP process, quality metrics, A3 problem solving and internal communication of quality related issues.  

 Essential Functions

• Responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures that improve supply base performance, and raise the level of quality expectations with all suppliers.
• Work with incoming inspection and quality departments to ensure material rejections are addressed and the proper root cause/corrective actions are put in place, and communicated to all stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance. Provide the sourcing team with supplier performance data so informed decisions can be made on supplier selection strategy.
• Work cross functionally to help implement process/other improvements in support of manufacturing through RIE events and other methodologies.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and report results. Provide subsequent recommendations, action plans and timing to achieve resolutions to existing issues.
• Develop a new supplier and material approval process.

 Desired Experience  

• 3-5 years of quality lead experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years supplier quality program implementation.
• 3-5 years of quality engineering.
• 3-5 years statistical analysis.
• Strong knowledge of MSA, APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis and other quality tools.
