Strategic Sourcing Manager, US

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate will lead the strategic sourcing organization in the US that is responsible for approximately $250MM in annual spend, combined across multiple direct material categories. This person will be a key, hands-on member of the Global Sourcing Organization, and will play an essential role in leading continuous process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, cost savings initiatives and developing the sourcing organization's capabilities to create value for all internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Drive strategic supplier initiatives including supplier selection, development, consolidation and platforming methodology.
• Coach, develop, lead and motivate a high performing team that will provide effective category plans, strategic sourcing strategies and assurance of supply for all key material groups
• Work closely with all Wahl subsidiaries to understand the priorities, timing and strategy of key business requirements. Optimize supplier capabilities and relationships in support of global sourcing needs.
• Work closely with, and participate in, Global Sourcing Category/Commodity Teams.
• Develop and implement standardized, meaningful analytics supported by credible data (supplier performance, commodity market fluctuations, TCO, etc.).
• Directly manage complex negotiations with key suppliers that require a detailed strategic plan. Decision maker and subject matter expert for risk management allowances, terms/conditions, transportation, pricing and quality control/acceptance.
• Support product launches and transitions by partnering with new product development, product management and operations early in the process
• Partner with R&D to drive supplier innovation by proactively seeking new technologies and materials
• Develop and deploy risk mitigation strategies (assurance of supply, tariff issues, alternative manufacturing, cost increases, single supplier risks, etc)
• Lead supplier value-add initiatives to support new product development, innovation, speed to market and competitive advantage goals of the business.
• Develop cost savings projects for the region with savings estimates, timing and path to achieve these savings.
• Provide effective and consistent communication at all levels in the organization to build and maintain strong working relationships with key business stakeholders

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain management, business, engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing
• 5+ years of sourcing team leadership
• 5+ years of supplier management experience
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, supplier audit processes and CPI methodology
• Strong excel, word, power point skills. Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
• Extensive experience sourcing materials in Asia and Europe
