Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sourcing Manager to join our team.

The Sourcing Manager for Indirect Materials & Services will be responsible for supplier sourcing and category management duties within various indirect spend categories. These responsibilities include assessing current end-to-end sourcing operations, implementing process improvements to ensure value-add and aligned sourcing activity, supplier relationship management, negotiations, new supplier and materials development, risk mitigation, and building strong/supportive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to the Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing. Initially, this will be an individual contributor role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Drive strategic supplier initiatives including supplier selection, development, and consolidation.
  2. Develop and maintain a good understanding and knowledge of assigned category products/markets and their potential impact on company performance.
  3. Work closely and develop effective relationships with internal customers/stakeholders to understand priorities, timing, and strategy of key business requirements.
  4. Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all sourcing expectations are met.
  5. Work closely with Compliance to ensure all suppliers maintain the expected standard.
  6. Develop and manage a cost savings project pipeline that will deliver year-over-year savings to the company within assigned categories.
  7. Develop, communicate, and implement short & long-term category strategies to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk to the company.
  8. Manage sourcing for capital expenditures to meet timelines and budgets, mitigate risks and liabilities to the company, and protect working capital through payment terms improvements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of assigned category products/markets, supplier input costs and their potential impact on company performance; and should be viewed as the "expert" within these categories domestically and globally.
  2. Drive the supply base to continually develop and implement process improvements and provide meaningful value to the company
  3. Responsible for overall performance of suppliers in assigned categories
  4. Partners cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end collaboration and alignment
  5. Ensure supplier agreements, pricing, processes, and quality meet or exceed business requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain operations, finance or other related to business requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years strategic indirect category management/sourcing experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of capital expenditure category management/sourcing experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, supplier audit processes and CPI methodology
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies (RFx, SRM, category management, etc.) and excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven project management and communication skills
  • Ability to be proactive and persistent in a fast paced, multi-dimensional environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across many functional areas.
  • Ability to respectfully challenge status quo where appropriate, as supported by well-researched data and effectively articulate how each case will positively affect the company.
  • Strong "follow up" mind set and attention to detail.
  • Integrity, humility, flexibility, and a creative thought process.
  • Travel up to 25% (mostly domestic)
