Senior Manager of Distribution

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Senior Manager of Distribution at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

This position is responsible for the direction and management of all activities related to North America Distribution including, but not limited to the following:  inbound warehousing (domestic, international & offsite storage), outbound warehousing (domestic & international) and ecommerce offsite warehousing.  It is also responsible for international freight forwarding, domestic transportation, small parcel and outside processing logistics. This position will strategically evaluate and execute opportunities to improve service and reduce total costs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONIBILITIES:

• Develop effective strategies for achieving process performance goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost, retention and engagement
• Champion team members to drive quality improvement initiatives and standardized work
• Drive the creation of processes for exceptional on time in full delivery to the customer
• Collaborate with cross functional team members to improve flow that supports timely delivery
• Create expense budget for the facility, including staffing and capital spending
• Collaborate with Human Resources and Demand Planning to develop labor plans
• Model Wahl Way behaviors and values
• Establish processes for setting expectations and providing training, mentoring, coaching, feedback and positive reinforcement
• Support the development of business and organizational strategies which includes determining and deploying facility objectives and organizational design that align with supply chain and company goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years experience with management processes related to shipping, receiving, transportation, manufacturing warehousing, offsite storage, and ecommerce warehousing
• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field of study or senior level experience in operations/distribution/logistics environment supervising, mentoring, and developing associates
• Experienced in developing strategies for change management that relate to key processes and accountabilities
• Methods for addressing cost implications of supply chain processes
• Understanding techniques and tools for creating and executing a successful organizational design and labor plan
• Strategies and processes for improving and role modeling safety to achieve department targets
• Experience with quality practices and implementation of quality programs to meet goals
• Competencies that align with the Wahl Way including establishing a team vision of success, methods for coaching team members and standardized work practices
• Strong project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
