Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an influential leader to join our Global Demand Management Team as a Senior Demand Planner supporting Latin America.

This position is responsible for collaborating with Sales & Marketing to generate a quality demand signal used in downstream supply chain processes to align end to end material flow and prepare for actual customer demand. The Sr. Demand Planner will also provide leadership during the demand phase of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The Sr. Demand Planner reports directly to the Regional Demand Planning Manager but is viewed as an integral part of the respective Sales & Marketing division supported. This is a hybrid position based out of our Sunrise, FL office (preferred) or Headquarters in Sterling, IL.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Drive cross functional engagement by analyzing monthly performance metrics and qualitative forecast elements to provide insights and opportunities for improvement
  2. Develop an effective statistical forecast by managing quantitative forecast elements based on demand patterns, trends, and seasonality
  3. Lead demand planning consensus efforts with Sales & Marketing and document forecasting assumptions and decisions in support of the S&OP process
  4. Drive collaboration efforts to develop an aligned consensus demand signal with Sales & Marketing leaders that creates the foundation to reach sales and inventory targets
  5. Support management with risk assessment and mitigation activities driven by key demand changes
  6. Participate in sku rationalization discussions led by Sales & Marketing to guide demand estimates
  7. Contribute to new product planning initial forecast estimates and monitor market response
  8. Manage discontinued items and partner cross functionally to ensure a smooth, cost effective, phase-out
  9. Understand demand variance impact as it relates to budget and business strategies
  10. Create continuous improvement culture through peer leadership and working cross functionally to develop and implement solutions to drive improved business decisions related to demand planning

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Review SMART goals routinely to understand current state
  2. Promote quality-oriented mindset by implementing solutions to improve demand variance
  3. Address demand related issues in a timely and effective manner
  4. Support inventory objectives by providing Materials Management with quality demand signals that drive inventory strategies
  5. Reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory by supporting Sales & Marketing in assortment portfolio projects
  6. Provide leadership to peers through coaching and mentoring

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field of study required
  • 5+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain or forecasting role
  • Excellent software skills; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in Microsoft D365 or equivalent ERPs, Power BI or equivalent BI tools, IBM Planning Analytics, SAP or equivalent demand planning systems preferred
  • Ability to effectively break down complex data (quantitative and qualitative) into manageable pieces to be used in the forecasting process
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying demand and inventory management concepts with an understanding of the financial and operational impacts
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and multiple levels of management
  • Possess the business acumen and interpersonal skills to build and maintain cross functional relationships
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Must understand and embrace the Wahl values and culture
