Replenishment Buyer

This position manages purchased finished goods replenishment and inventory management processes.  The position, also, partners with internal and external packing operations and packaging suppliers to convert purchased products into purchased finished goods to be distributed to customers.  The objective of this position is to provide superior service to customers while minimizing inventory investment and supply chain costs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Replenish purchased finished goods, purchased products, and packaging materials from external suppliers
• Utilize advanced replenishment processes as well as the traditional MRP and Min/Max replenishment processes (Requires proficiency with MRP system to systematically setup and manage the replenishment processes both types of replenishment)
• Ability to develop creative solutions to reduce supplier lead-times (Substitute communication, information, and agreements for purchase orders and lead-time & manage and communicate Wahl forecast information)
• Work with the suppliers to increase inventory flexibility, reduce cost and investment through the supply chain
• Development and maintenance of Purchased Finished Goods supplier scorecard
• Partner with Marketing and Sales to successfully launch new products on-time while managing investment risk
• Partner with Marketing and Sales to manage seasonality and promotions
• Utilize software tools to identify on-time delivery and inventory performance gaps and initiate continuous improvement projects to close the gaps
• Participate in the performance review meetings
• Maintenance of replenishment system to ensure system integrity: Initiate replenishment and action exception message, maintain system parameters - leadtime and lot sizing parameters, open orders & manage due dates
• Ensure frequent, transparent communication with suppliers
• Provide support to the internal/external packaging operations as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or Systems/IT Related Field or equivalent experience
• 3 5 years of replenishment experience (MRP, DDMRP, Kanban, or alternative replenishment methods)
• Excellent software skills emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Business Objects
• 3 5 years working in a manufacturing or distribution environment in an operations support role
• Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Possess the ability to work non-traditional hours, occasionally, to be able to communicate with the international suppliers, during their work schedules
