Replenishment Buyer

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Replenishment Buyer at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Replenishment Buyer is responsible for purchasing and inventory functions This role maintains inventory ordering controls in the ERP system and performs other inventory maintenance projects as required. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager - Purchasing. There are no direct reports to this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Replenish raw material, purchased components, purchased finished goods and packaging material from external suppliers, focusing on matching inventory levels (supply) with customer needs (demand).
• Manage supply orders from order generation to receipt, including all correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner.
• Ensure frequent, transparent communication with suppliers to increase inventory flexibility, reduce cost and investment through the supply chain.
  • Manage and communicate Wahl forecast information
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to reduce supplier lead-times and improve vendor on time in full requirements.
• Utilize advanced replenishment process as well as the traditional Materials Replenishment Planning (MRP) and Min/Max processes.
• Maintenance of replenishment systems to ensure system integrity, maintaining all master data within the Purchasing and Planning Modules, for both existing and new items.
• Partner with Sourcing, Planning, Engineering and Sales & Marketing teams to manage seasonality, promotional demand and to successfully launch new products on time while managing investment risk.
• Utilize statistical analysis tools to analyze customer demand and supplier replenishment data to identify opportunities to improve flow, reduce variation, improve customer satisfaction and/or reduce investment.
• Utilize software tools to identify on-time delivery and inventory performance gaps and initiate continuous improvement projects to close the gaps.
• Provide support to the internal/external packaging operations as required.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Achieve 98% Product Availability, Achieve established Inventory Turns target, Minimize additional supply chain costs including premium freight expense, slow moving inventory expenses,  and support new product launches and promotional periods. Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, or Systems/IT Related Field or equivalent experience
• 3 5 years of replenishment experience (MRP, DDMRP, Kanban, or alternative replenishment methods)
• 3 5 years working in a manufacturing or distribution environment in an operations support role
• Strong interdepartmental communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills
• Excellent software skills emphasis on Microsoft Office (Excel), Business Objects, enterprise systems
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques
• Ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours to communicate with the international suppliers during their work schedules.
