Product Manager - Consumer

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Product Manager for Consumer Massage at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Product Manager is responsible for defining, positioning, pricing, and the promotion of clippers along with managing the market adoption and product life cycles. This position is "the voice of the customer" and "owns" the product and is ultimately responsible for its overall success. This position reports directly to the Senior Product Manager Pet & Massage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for intimately knowing, supporting, and learning about all the Wahl segments, products/SKUs, and customers.
• Understand the unique and individual needs of Wahl customers, including, distributors, retailers, resellers and end users. Review top customer promotions, co-op, and sales along with merchandising and store demos to create suggestions on how to increase success and profitability.
• Creates value for the customer by managing new opportunities to ensure a market driven, whole product offering.
• Embraces a culture of continuous improvement and follows processes that streamline projects, including new product development, promotions, and line reviews.
• Executes project development, product strategy, and channel management practices.
• Provides support regarding pricing, line reviews, promotions etc. to the Sr. Product Manager and Sales Team.
• Thinks systemically and implements concepts according to the product roadmap and marketing plan.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or business management.
• 3-5 years of experience in product management or a similar role such as marketing or sales.
• Must have excellent personal skills to manage and coordinate multiple needs of the organization with internal and external partners.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong understanding and comfort level with Excel.
• Ability to work independently using time management skills to handle a variety of duties.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
• Ability to model the Company's values of respect for people, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time to customer meetings, line reviews, store shops and trade shows or events.
