Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Product Data Management Coordinator at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of product data for new products and performing a variety of administrative duties for the New Product Development Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. This position works with confidential information regarding product design.
  2. Enters the data to establish new items for Wahl Sterling and in some cases, item numbers provided to subsidiaries.
  3. The NPD PDM is responsible for creating bills of material for new products and components.
  4. Reviews and works with engineering, compliance, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to ensure the bill of materials released from NPD to confirm that everything required to manufacture the product is accurate.
  5. The NPD PDM works to meet multiple deadlines including, but not limited to, Engineering Change Notices, (ECN's), Bills of Material, and all product related attributes in the system.
  6. The NPD PDM is in contact daily with various individuals from Material Control, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Accounting and Manufacturing departments.
  7. The NPD PDM will work with other PDM's and the PDM Administrator as necessary to assist with other key projects.
  8. This position may also be asked to participate in product reviews and engineering reviews to become knowledgeable regarding new product designs.
  9. The effectiveness of this position is measured by manufacturing being able to build/pack product without any problems based on the bill of material and changes being made smoothly without any problems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Creates bills of materials in D365 for all new products and components.
  2. Attends Engineering Design Reviews and Project team meetings as necessary to ensure understanding of new products, components, and construction.
  3. Assist others in the NPD department with D365 questions as they pertain to the ECN and BOM release process.
  4. Assists other PDMs and the PDM Administrator as requested to support the overall business.
  5. Running D365 queries or reports for the New Product Development department.
  6. Ensures all product data is released accurately in D365 to support on time launches for new products.
  7. Creates shipping labels for the department.
  8. Performs other duties as requested by the New Product Development Department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates' degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interface with individuals of various backgrounds, job responsibilities, and experience both internally and externally.
  • Strong organizational skills. Operates with a focus on timely outcomes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be able to maintain a constructive work environment without supervision.
  • Demonstrates leadership and initiative.
  • Proven computer skills and knowledge of Windows based applications (Dynamics 365 experience a plus).
  • Willingness to think outside the box and adapt to changes.
