Power BI Developer

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Power BI Developer at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Power BI Developer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, acquiring, documenting, testing, implementing, integrating, maintaining and modifying Power BI reports for the organization. This position reports directly to the Applications Manager position. There are no direct reports to this position. However, this position may work as a project manager and can manage/direct vendors, consultants, and interns. This position may also be assigned to projects managed by others outside of IT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Primary focus on business intelligence and reporting technologies/methodologies.
• Assist in the delivery of quality solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Power BI), Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data factories, and related technologies.
• Design and implement custom reports, tiles, dashboards for internal and external consumption.
• Perform data manipulation and cleansing to prepare datasets for visualization.
• Author custom measures for use in reports.
• Implement and maintain report models and content pipelines.
• Create custom data extracts and ad hoc reports.
• Analyze information requirements throughout the enterprise. Document information requirements and all related processes in both current and desired future state.
• Facilitates the successful adoption of systems by involving users appropriately from needs analysis through implementation.
• Coordinate and facilitate work groups involved in the analysis, selection and implementation phases.
• Creates user training materials and work instructions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Computer Science or Information Systems
• 3+ years' experience in developing large scale Power BI models, visualizations, and custom measures
• Strong Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL
• Strong Proficiency and expertise in DAX
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modeling, with experience using various tooling (Azure, On Premises, Power BI)
• Detail oriented and analytical mindset, with ability to rationalize ambiguity / unknowns
• Ability to effectively manage time and adjust to changing priorities
• Project Management skills to handle multiple projects from beginning to end.
• Must have excellent Customer Service and be able to communicate to a diverse set of customers both written and orally.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory a plus
• Work in Microsoft Azure and other Cloud environments a plus
