SUMMARY

The OEM Value Stream Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations. Reporting directly into this position are the Quality Manager-OEM, Buyer/Planner/Scheduler-OEM, Department Supervisor-OEM, OEM Project Engineer-Design, OEM Manufacturing Engineering, OEM Operations Support Technician, OEM Die Designer, OEM Tool Room Supervisor, and the OEM Senior Product Technician.


This position works with confidential information regarding products, pricing, and cost of products, must stay abreast of legal requirements of UL, FDA, ISO, RoHS/WEE, OEM Customer Contract & Supply Agreements, Intellectual Property Management and Customer Relations. Continually works to stay abreast of technical advances in Engineering and works to meet multiple deadlines and goals.


Typical challenges of the OEM Value Stream Manager are managing deadlines established by the customer while dealing with process and product capability issues, OEM productivity issues, line balancing and overall equipment effectiveness, (OEE). Additional challenges include integration of systematic and statistical techniques to enhance overall OEM products dimensional and functional capability.


This position is responsible for modifications to existing designs, field return product analysis, implementation of material compliance initiatives and the coordination of cost reduction activities related to current products. May also play a significant role in assisting the OEM senior management representative in the development, justification and administration of capital budgeting and capital equipment acquisitions. The OEM Value Stream Manager coordinates new product launch activities, drives advanced quality and manufacturing initiatives such as Statistical Process Control, process capability studies and process correlation studies. Responsible for product and process validation testing, OEE, and Design for Manufacturing Analysis planning. Represents OEM on various cross-functional teams.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Primary customer contact for OEM Customers.
  2. Manages/coordinates improvements and modifications to existing OEM products.
  3. Performs field return product analysis.
  4. Responsible for material compliance related to all global regulatory agencies.
  5. Responsible for continuous improvement activities regarding OEM products.
  6. Assists in the development, justification, and administration of capital budgeting and

equipment acquisitions.

  2. Develops and implements manufacturing strategic plans.
  3. Responsible for Design for Manufacturing Analysis and manufacturing planning.
  4. Responsible for advanced quality initiatives and manufacturing planning.
  5. Represents OEM on cross-functional teams.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree with emphasis in a manufacturing discipline/technical field desired.
  • Minimum of seven years progressive experience with quality and lean management in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including profit and loss responsibilities
  • Solid manufacturing foundation with specific lean tools (5S, facilitation of Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, etc.)
  • Solid background in project management and training.
  • Six Sigma and Lean certifications preferred.
  • Ability to lead with humility and respect every individual
  • Ability to embrace a culture of empowering employees, innovation and risk taking, and creating value for the customer.
