Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of NPD Mechanical Engineering Intern at our offices in Sterling, Illinois.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with designs or improve routine components and products with a solid understanding of design tools and methods. Optimize routine components and products with a solid understanding of analysis methods
• Support implementation from product concept to prototype to launch
• Assist in solving routine problems with a solid aptitude for problem solving skills
• Translate customer needs to product requirements.
• Analyze competitive products
• Test and analyze prototype products and review existing products and/or processes to promote productivity and make necessary recommendations
• Create reports and presentations for projects management supervisors and clients on a per need basis

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Current undergraduate or recent graduate
• Pursuing a degree in Engineering with an understanding of part design and manufacturing process for plastic parts
• Completed at least one year of college
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn
• 3D modeling/ design experience preferred
