Internship Summer 2022 - Industrial Design

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Industrial Design Intern within our Consumer Sales and Marketing department at our offices in Sterling, Illinois.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Use computer programs such as sketchbook, PowerPoint, Solidworks, Keyshot, and related Adobe programs to complete design and concept development tasks to help envision the next look for a variety of products and projects
• Produce physical design models and prototypes utilizing 3D printing capabilities
• Assist in conducting consumer research as part of the development process
• Other projects as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Industrial Design program
• Knowledge of sketchbook, PowerPoint, Solidworks, Keyshot, and related Adobe programs
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas and thought process
• Understand the unique perspectives of Marketing, Engineering, and Operations
• Having passion for creating innovative products to satisfy end user needs
• Evaluate end users, and competitive products to develop cutting edge designs
• Comfortable presenting ideas and self-motivated
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
