Industrial Design Intern

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Industrial Design Intern at our offices in Sterling, Illinois.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Knowledge of digital sketching software such as Sketchbook Pro.
• Working knowledge of Solidworks, Rhino, or NX
• Working knowledge of human factors and ergonomics.
• Rapid development of prototypes. Both rough foam and high finish presentation models.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas and thought process.
• Understand the unique perspectives of Marketing, Engineering, and Operations.
• Have passion for creating innovative products to satisfy end user needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong visual communication skills, both quick hand and digital sketching, and rendering.
• Evaluate end users, and competitive products to develop cutting edge designs.
• Comfortable presenting his/her ideas and self-motivated.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Industrial Design program.
• Basic understanding of Engineering and the Manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
