IT Specialist

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of IT Specialist at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The IT Specialist's role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. They are responsible for the daily operations and assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and support of the organization's Information Systems. This includes actively resolving end user help requests within established SLAs as well as ensuring the availability of information, applications and systems that end users need to accomplish their mission.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:

• Serves as an IT business partner to develop and execute initiatives that drive business and organizational strategies.
• Manages and/or administers IT projects.
• Maintains all hardware, software, servers and infrastructure.
• Required to develop expertise in those areas of IT that are critical to business unit performance.
• Attend courses, seminars, conferences, and participate in user groups to maintain and increase their level of knowledge regarding the industry, technologies, and applications appropriate to the IT & environment in which they work.
• Follow instructions and work constructively with others.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong documentation skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work on projects or assignments and prepare and present reports as required.
• Maintain awareness of all IT policies, guidelines and procedures, and comply with them.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in Computer Science or minimum 5 years network/desktop work experience required.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science and 2-3 years network/desktop work experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft related desktop and server operating systems preferred.
• Technical knowledge in hardware/software and related technologies in several areas preferred.
