Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Human Resources Compensation Specialist at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

As part of our expanding HR team, the Human Resources Compensation Specialist is responsible for performing human resources related duties working closely with management in support of compensation as it relates to performance management, recruitment, and retention. This role has visibility to the global organization reporting to the Director of Human Resources at headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the business on compensation issues including job role definitions, slotting, identification and selection of appropriate market benchmarks. Assists the Talent Acquisition team with specific tools to establish compensation for internal and external hires.
  • Provides analytical support to ensure compensation plans are competitive, in alignment with our values, and compliant with legal and fiscal regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation.
  • Assists with the compensation analysis for new hires and internal promotions collaborating to expedite the approval process and creating offer letters.
  • Performs analysis to determine if salaries are within market ranges.
  • Evaluates new and existing positions to determine appropriate classification, FLSA status and salary levels.
  • Assists in the coordination of the annual global merit and bonus process.
  • Provide a wide range of compensation analytics and provide support in recommending corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems or leveling issues.
  • Manage the job description process.  Work with hiring managers and talent acquisition team to review and develop job descriptions ensuring proper compensation and FLSA exemption status are applied.
  • Provide support for the administration of 401K/Profit Sharing program for North America including taking the lead in preparing required information for annual audits.
  • Provide a wide range of compensation analytics and provide support in recommending corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems or leveling issues.
  • Provide analytical support as needed in the form of ad hoc reports and builds new reports in HRIS.
  • Maintain compliance and support the submission of regulatory reporting to the government i.e. EEO-I report.
  • Maintain global organization charts and monitor headcount changes.
  • Develop and document procedures to streamline and improve processes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or equivalent required.
  • Relevant experience in compensation required
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, and compliance requirements affecting FLSA, and DOL
  • Numerically proficient and analytically inclined, position entails quantitative analysis and data interpretation.
  • High level of computer aptitude with Microsoft suite, particularly advanced in Excel; experience with HRIS databases.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Self-starter with the ability to make decisions that are in alignment with the overall company strategy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment required
  • Willingness to learn keeping abreast of talent trends in the market
