HR Business Partner

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of HR Business Partner at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The HR Business Partner is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and will have direct accountability for all areas of human resources for Sterling operations, including organizational development, leadership coaching, employee relations, employee engagement, training, and performance management. This position reports directly to the Director of HR.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology or business-related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading an HR team including broad generalist background and skill base in the HR disciplines.
  • Experience in coaching, recruitment, employment investigations, training, policy development, Affirmative Action reporting and legal requirements.
  • Must be familiar with FMLA, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA, AAP, and be willing to stay abreast of the ever-changing laws and regulations in Employment Law.
  • Experience with compensation programs and implementing incentive plans.
  • Experience in creating and executing talent development and succession planning strategies.
  • Must have good business acumen and the ability to see the "big picture".
  • Strong competency in emotional intelligence and the ability to appropriately direct, manage and guide individuals.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship skills with proven ability to effectively coach and influence.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Experience with significant change management activities preferred, openness to change.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner with all levels of employees, customers, and visitors both verbal and written.
  • Ability to model the Company's values of respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
