Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an opportunity for a Global Senior Product Manager in our Professional division.


The Global Senior Product Manager identifies opportunities through market research, plans and manages the development of new products and enhancements of existing products for categories of the global professional portfolio. This role reports directly to the Global Portfolio Management Director. This position will have 2-3 direct reports, such as product manager(s), assistant product manager(s) and/or coordinator(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for growing profit and sales for all the Wahl Professional segments, products/SKUs
  • Creates value for the customer by developing and executing on the Professional product roadmap and seeks new opportunities to ensure a market driven, whole product offering.
  • Leads a culture of continuous improvement and executes processes that streamline projects, including new product development, promotions, and line reviews.
  • Acts as the key authority and point of contact for project development concepts, product strategy, and channel management.
  • Discovers and implements new opportunities for pricing, line reviews, promotions etc.
  • Thinks systemically and updates the product roadmap and business unit plans accordingly.
  • Works as the subject matter expert regarding product marketing within the Professional Division, globally.
  • Manages, leads, and develops direct reports to maximize Professional Division portfolio & sales strategies

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify opportunities, through research insights, to expand or reduce brand and product categories, ensuring a market driven, channel diverse, whole product offering.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data and adjust development plans as needed to meet global strategies, make recommendations, and drive new product development.
  • Strategize, create, & oversee the implementation of standard operating procedures and process maps for all corporate product initiatives.
  • Supervise product manager(s), assistant product manager(s) and/or coordinator(s) to ensure execution of the marketing, product roadmap, and sales plans set by the divisions.
  • Partner with engineering and design teams to bring the product roadmap to life by setting priorities and timelines.
  • Create new product strategies and oversee the management of new product development projects while streamlining and optimizing current queued projects.
  • Ensure that various stages of product development are completed as the schedule dictates by leading, organizing and regularly meeting with cross-functional teams.
  • Work cross functionally with the Senior Market Research Manager, Global Product Managers, Education Director, Brand Director, and Portfolio Management Directors to create and develop consistent brand messaging and marketing strategies.
  • In conjunction with Global Brand Marketing, ensure consistent and accurate content across all platforms.
  • Along with the Marketing Team, strategize, analyze, and oversee planning of promotional opportunities such as new product launches, pricing reductions, and other such opportunities.
  • Execute pricing strategies to ensure pricing remains competitive and profit goals are met. Find cost reductions and additional methods of increasing portfolio profitability.
  • Oversee product lifecycle and provide timelines & supporting research for phase in and phase out strategies.
  • Ensure timely line review and promotional recommendations and the associated collateral.
  • Provide guidance to the Product Management teams that allows for their career success through a clear vision, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure team develops critical skills and identify growth opportunities that support their career goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business management, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or a similar role.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Communication in Chinese is a plus
  • Must have excellent personal skills to manage and coordinate multiple needs of organization with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficient in analyzing market data and interpreting data that leads to market strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently using time management skills to handle a variety of duties.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure
