Global Logistics and Distribution Manager

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Global Logistics and Distribution Manager at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

This position is responsible for the development and execution of a logistics and distribution strategy that will optimize global transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs while achieving, or exceeding customer service targets. Serves as the Global Logistics consultant to Wahl Clipper's global subsidiaries. This position reports directly to the Vice President - Global Supply Chain Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop global logistics and distribution strategy that will support the business achieving customer service targets while optimizing transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs.
• Assist global subsidiaries with implementation of strategy and realize expected benefits (service and/or costs).
• Develop and manage freight forwarder and 3PL scorecards
• Logistics support for entry into new global markets
• Global subject matter expert responsible to spread logistics, warehousing, distribution best practices globally
• Partner with global supply chain partners (sourcing, factories, warehousing, distribution) to meet customer performance expectations and optimize costs
• Partner with supply chain partners to develop plans to mitigate logistics risks associated with trade lanes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Achieve customer service performance targets while optimizing global transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs.
• Develop and implement of logistics metrics with the purpose of evaluating performance and cost and driving improved performance
• Optimize global logistics spend and develop strategies and cost savings projects
• Use performance scorecards to drive continuous improvement throughout transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks.
• Provide leadership and support to local subsidiary leadership to management to drive service and cost improvement
• Global implementation of logistics best practices
• Understand global supply chain trends and incorporate into planning to minimize costs and maximize performance.
• Support global ecommerce initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related discipline
• Prefer 3+ years in a similar position with a minimum of 5 years of experience with global supply chains
• Knowledge of international commerce (Licensed Customs Broker preferred), including global supply chain processes, customs regulations and requirements
  • In depth knowledge of key supply chain and logistics processes and current best practices
  • Experience with Import/Export Compliance and Free Trade Zones
  • Experience with all modes of domestic and international freight and the use of intermediaries, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, etc..
• Experienced in successfully negotiating freight and logistics service agreements
• Able to recognize and apply the simple, appropriate approach where appropriate
• Ability to model "Wahl Way" competencies including respect for every individual, thinking systemically, and focus on process.
• Willing to travel internationally 25% of the time
