Global Director of Quality

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Global Director of Quality at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Global Director of Quality will focus on improving end-to-end quality communication process and support business processes in operations, marketing, supply chain, finance, and human resources to meet customer expectations. This role will also manage projects and initiatives determined by Global Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work collaboratively across the organization to drive the quality culture. Establish relationships with organizational staff to design Quality programs and processes to support the organization's needs utilizing Lean/ Shingo Quality Principles
• Responsible for assuring appropriate implementation of a Quality feedback system in all the manufacturing sites and subs to improve the speed and quality of the communication process and establish feedback loop
• Oversee quality improvement processes in support of business plans, and effectively help resolve product quality issues in collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, and marketing organizations. Assure adequate support for quality process improvement initiatives.
• Lead the establishment of key metrics for the monitoring quality system's effectiveness in meeting customers' expectation of value
• Identify the gaps or barriers between current state and our desired future state for our global value streams by developing maps and/or workflows of existing processes. Be a part of the solution by helping implement corrective actions
• Lead internal & cross-functional project teams, develop relationships across organizations, and accomplish goals under pressure situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to model the Wahl Way values especially respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or Engineering preferred.
• 7-10 years of quality experience in manufacturing, global experience preferred.
• Needs to be organized and process oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Lean experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen combined with ability to be effective and persuasive in both written and oral communication.
• Strong skills in exercising independent judgment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer focus, communication, time management and analytical abilities required.
• Demonstrate ability to informally lead others with the ability to effectively influence.
• Ability to facilitate a team environment, and coach/mentor at all levels in the organization.
• Requires international travel up to 20%.
