This busy, full-time position will direct and lead Facility Technicians towards continuous improvement and assist the Maintenance Supervisor in supervision, direction, support, and training of Facility Technicians. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will have direct accountability of all technicians in all departments across the Facility. This position will not have any direct reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and train other Facility Technician personnel through the proper repair and upkeep of the facility and its equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on facility equipment as needed.
• Train and instruct on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment necessary to perform Facility Technician tasks.
• Review, plan and assign tasks as necessary.
• Report and update the Maintenance Supervisor of maintenance and project status.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in writing and implementing procedures, and PMs.
• In the case of the Maintenance Supervisor's absence, act as team leader and ensure team functionality and efficiencies.

SKILLS:

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
• Must be a team builder and a leader that can make tough decisions
• Must have a broad understanding of maintenance skills such as trouble shooting equipment, both the familiar and unfamiliar
• Must have the ability and knowledge of working with maintenance tools both mechanical and electrical
• Must be able to: climb ladders, work at heights, drive forklifts and scissor lifts as well as lift to 60Lbs
• Must have computer skills such as Excel and Word
• Must be able to follow and document projects from start to finish. Must be able to communicate with outside vendors
• The ability to exercise patience and practice safety

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• High level of management/personnel supervisory skills
• Basic math and machine understanding
• Ability to use mechanical, machine and power tools as well as electrical testing equipment
