Facilities Manager

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Facilities Manager at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois. 

This position is responsible for providing a facility that is structurally, physically, and safely maintained, ensuring equipment operates at optimum performance levels. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Designs, plans, constructs and maintains the Company's facility equipment, machinery and building in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• Prioritizes and schedules work assignments and employees, coordinates projects and outside contractors, and may serve as general contractor on major projects.
• Serves as a leader in the design, building and/or acquisition of new equipment including the safe guarding of all equipment
• Develops and executes an effective preventive maintenance program.
• Manages local security and video management system in support of CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
• Manages all aspects of our compressed air systems. Certifies all air storage vessels with the State of Illinois Fire Marshall.
• Manages the fire system serving as the company contact, scheduling services and upgrades. Manages the plants sprinkler systems and require testing/repairs.  Performs required notifications to insurance and fire departments.
• Manages all aspects of grounds maintenance including lawn care, and snow/ice removal.
• Manages company vehicle program (cars, vans, truck). Maintains quarterly fuel usage report for Finance and serves as a company contact for DOT.
• Serves as a point of contact for and partners with utility providers, contractors, vendors, fire department, various government agencies and utility companies.
• Supports environmental efforts and conservation programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field of study, or equivelant experience
• 5+ years maintenance experience required, facilities maintenance preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Technical skills in LEAN manufacturing processes and methods preferred
• Focus on process, environmental stewardship, systemic thinking, and safety.
• Ability to manage projects effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels
• Ability to manage emergency situations outside of normal business hours
• Ability to model the company's values of respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement
