Director of North America Sourcing

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative Sourcing Leader to join our North America Sourcing team.

The Director of North America Sourcing will lead the North America sourcing team directing all strategic and operational activities in managing more than $200MM of annual direct materials purchases. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing, the role will provide the necessary vision and leadership to develop and implement an end-to-end procurement strategy. This position will be strategic in nature and a highly visible member of the North America Operations Team. The scope includes ensuring supply, improving quality, enhancing profitability, leading continuous process improvement initiatives, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, creating and driving total cost savings initiatives, mentoring sourcing leaders, and developing the sourcing organizational capabilities to create sustainable year-over-year value in support of the company's strategic plan and financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that are aligned with the overall business strategy and financial objectives.
• Implement commodity and category risk mitigation plans.
• Coach, develop, lead, and motivate a high performing team that will provide effective category plans, strategic sourcing strategies, and supply continuity for all key materials.
• Individually lead assigned global categories as required.
• Ensure effective selection, development, and management of supply base through horizontal collaboration and leadership.
• Directly manage complex negotiations with key suppliers that require a defined strategy. Demonstrated decision maker and subject matter expert for risk management considerations, terms & conditions, pricing, transportation, pricing, and quality assurance.
• Support product launches and transitions by partnering with new product development, product management, and operations early in the process. Function as the single point of contact for the NPD teams for timely updates and overall project executions.
• Partner with R&D to drive supplier innovation by proactively seeking modern technologies and materials, with an emphasis on colors, coatings, and finishes.
• Lead total cost of ownership, quality at source and supplier value-add purchasing initiatives.
• Lead the tracking and reporting of all productivity teams and initiatives for standard operating cadences with the COO, VP of Global Strategic Sourcing, etc.
• Continue to refine and improve sourcing reporting processes (spend, productivity, working capital, supplier DPPM, lead-times, etc.).
• Provide effective and consistent communication at all levels in the organization to build and maintain strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain management, business, or related field
• 8+ years of global strategic sourcing experience
• 8+ years' experience in purchasing program management and team leadership
• 4+ years in consumer products or durable goods industries preferred
• Extensive experience sourcing materials from Asia, Latin America, and Europe
