JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Engineering is responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled. Responsible for product designs as related to production released projects including design enhancements, cost reductions, and ongoing production support. Assignments are broad in scope and highly complex requiring creativity, initiative, judgment and leadership with a broad understanding of a wide range of engineering principles and manufacturing and assembly processes. May be assigned to special projects within Sterling, IL or organization-wide focus that address broader issues outside of engineering.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of industry engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in technical staff management experience.
• Great project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent understanding on part design and manufacturing processes for plastic parts, stamped and machined metal parts and assembly.
• Mastery level skills for leading teams including hiring, setting expectations, providing coaching and effective feedback.
• Key competencies include critical decision making, strategic thinking and high-level analytical skills.
