Digital Production Designer

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Digital Production Designer at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Digital Production Designer is responsible for designing and producing visual aids for packaging, promotional material, presentations, and images for websites and social media pages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develops effective ways to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques; effectively collaborates with internal team, ad agencies, writers, and web content specialists
• Designs and produces visual aids for multiple components of new product and existing product development such as new and existing product packaging and promotional material, working confidentially with minimal errors.
• Develops exhibition design, such as poster, banner, or display materials selection, for trade show booths.
• Creates product catalogs, updating visual images on web pages and social media sites, and is in direct contact with the printing vendors.
• Generates static and video/animated content for use across various social channels and digital ads.
• Ensures final artwork meets all Prepress Checklist requirements and department policies and procedures. Works to reduce the Prepress Setup charges Wahl Clipper may accrue if the artwork is not prepared correctly. Provides answers to any color and/or graphic issues arising directly from the printing companies or from the Product Managers.
• Adheres to department Post-Release procedures to any final artwork releases. A Post-Release consists of, but not limited to, updating final packaging artwork to the server, moving images from a temporary location to a permanent backed-up location, updating all applicable imagery including Hero, Frontal, Kit Content, Catalog Sheets and any additional images to all proper channels (i.e. Salsify/Sales Art etc.)
• Continuously researching latest technologies to benefit division efforts to add value to the customer.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Apply creative thinking to produce new ideas and concepts that align with Brand and Campaign guidelines.
• Responsible for verifying all work in adherence to department standards
• Communicate through multiple different time barriers and cultural differences
• Work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylist, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers, and marketing specialists
• Develop content that can be repurposed amongst various social and eCommerce channels
• Work with a wide range of media, including photography, web, video, and print.
• Maintenance of marketing collateral portals (Salsify) and video production.
• Works cross-functionally internally and with subsidiaries to ensure we are "One Wahl".
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associates Degree in Graphic Design or related required.
• 2+ years of related experience required.
• Must possess good organizational, communication, typing and proofing (spell check) skills.
• Must remain up to date with industry leading software and technologies (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premier, Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, etc.)
• Ability to work with multiple cultures through multiple time zones
• Ability to work with various 3D software (Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot) a plus
• UI/UX development experience a plus
• Ability to understand deadlines in relation to time zone differences
• Demonstrated graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Must be creative and have working knowledge of printers and digital cameras
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
