Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Data Engineering & BI Intern at our offices in Sterling, Illinois.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data engineering and business intelligence, working on real-world projects that support our organization's data-driven decision-making processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Data Engineering:

1. Data Pipeline Development: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to ensure smooth data flow from various sources.
2. Data Integration: Combine raw data from different sources and transform it into consistent, meaningful formats using Data Warehouse (DWH) concepts.
3. Database Management: Help in developing and maintaining databases, ensuring data quality and efficiency.
4. Data Cleaning: Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to improve data quality.
5. Documentation: Document data processes, pipelines, and any changes made to the data infrastructure.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with senior data engineers and other team members to optimize data workflows.

Business Intelligence (BI):

1. BI Tool Development: Assist in designing and implementing BI tools and systems.
2. Data Analysis: Analyze data to extract insights that inform strategic business decisions.
3. Report Generation: Create and maintain reports and dashboards to visualize data insights.
4. Data Modeling: Develop data models to support BI activities.
5. Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of BI systems and suggest improvements.
6. User Support: Provide support to end-users in using BI tools and interpreting data.
7. Collaboration: Work with other departments to understand their data needs and provide relevant BI solutions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMETNS:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Completed at least one year of college
• Basic knowledge of programming languages (Python, SQL) and data tools.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a challenging environment.
