Cost Accountant

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and team-oriented individual to fill the role of Cost Accountant in Sterling, IL.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitor material purchases, outside processing and inbound freight charges, and adjust current standards to reflect accurate costing.
• Understand how product design, bill of material, routing and manufacturing methods, along with material purchases, impact product costs.
• Analyze changes in product design, manufacturing methods, raw materials and outside processing charges and communicate their impact on product costs to affected users.
• Maintain other elements of cost accounting system, including updates to current and annual frozen standard costs.
• Monitor cycle count transactions and report on cycle count coverage and accuracy levels in accordance with company policy.
• Participate in root cause analysis of inventory adjustments and help to implement corrective actions.
• Provide analysis and decision support for Purchasing, Supply Chain and Value Stream Managers for material costs and inventory management, especially as it relates to identifying opportunities to lower our risk and total cost of ownership of inventories.
• Monitors current inventory tracking system and procedures, and suggests revisions to improve business processes and enhance internal controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned by MIFP principally, along with North America CFO, Financial Accounting Manager or Value Stream Finance Partner.

The ideal person for this position has the following minimal requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1 -2 years of related experience preferred
• Must have strong analysis, problem solving and communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Interpersonal skills and team player willing to help find solutions to business problems
