Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Continuous Improvement Manager at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the development and management of the continuous improvement plan that is aligned with Corporate Strategy, the Wahl Operating System, and the Wahl Way. This role will work collaboratively with employees and management teams to teach understanding of the continuous improvement concepts and tools and serve as a change agent for developing and encouraging a culture that is driven by safety, discipline, transparency, and accountability. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Operations. Reporting directly to this position are the Lean Coordinators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teaches, communicates, coaches, the implementation of LEAN concepts and tools in line with Wahl Sterling initiatives, the Wahl Operating System and Wahl Way principles. This includes on-boarding processes, leadership training standardization, etc.
  • Supports continuous improvement by gathering improvement ideas from manufacturing areas by engaging process experts, employees, leads and Cell Leaders.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in LEAN operations, continuously keeping abreast of new concepts and tools.  Communicates and shares best practices with the global operations.
  • Leads the development of current and future Value Stream Maps across different Cells and Value Streams. Develops an action plan and specific assignments to transition to future state.
  • Develops and manages continuous improvement programs including Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs).
  • Provides assistance by attending/conducting (if required) daily huddles and Gemba walks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred (BA/BS)
  • 5+ years of experience in LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • Certifications in LEAN/Six Sigma/Shingo preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to secure alignment and influence without authority at senior-leader levels
  • Planning and organizational skills prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking.
  • Record of delivering quantifiable efficiencies/performance optimization and implementing change across multiple functional areas
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new techniques and continuous improvement programs at all levels of manufacturing operations
  • Ability to model the Company's values which include respect for every individual, integrity, innovation and continuous improvement.
