Compensation Analyst

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of:

Compensation Analyst at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the administration, and maintenance of global compensation programs. In tandem with other compensation team members performs activities that support the evaluation, development and implementation of human resources initiatives related to compensation management as an effort to attract, retain and develop qualified talent. This position reports directly to the Compensation Specialist. This position does not have direct reports. However, as part of the Compensation Center of Expertise (COE), supports HR Business Partners and global leaders in matters related to compensation decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares compensation analysis utilizing benchmarks pulled from multiple salary survey results to ensure wages are competitive and equitable. Benchmarking support extends to US locations and occasionally other global subsidiaries.
  • Reviews job descriptions and recommends changes to comply with FLSA and other labor laws, standard-best practices, and global consistency initiatives.
  • Maintains global employee and compensation data in HRIS system. Create compensation reports by pulling data from multiple HRIS sources, and maintains current organization chart files.
  • Assists in the coordination of the annual global merit and bonus process.
  • Assists the Talent Acquisition team with providing salary recommendations for internal promotional opportunities and external hires.
  • Assists in reviewing compliance, and harmonization of position design efforts provided by the implementation a global compensation structure, the activation of a job pricing tool and the migration into a new Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Provides support as needed in the form of ad hoc reports and compensation audit reviews.
  • Keeps abreast of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Serves as the point of contact for HR US with regards to compensation analysis requests.
  • Maintains a positive outlook toward work flexibility and change management processes.
  • Supports the development and design of processes that improve the compensation function.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology or business-related field required.
  • 2 years' experience in a compensation role, or broad HR generalist background with a passion for analytics and data driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and effectively work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to coach and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, positive, courteous manner with employees and management at all levels in a diverse global environment.
  • Ability to take complex information and present it in a simple, visual format
  • Current knowledge of employment laws and regulations, related to compliance requirements affecting FLSA, DOL and other compensation related federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Some experience with compensation programs and implementation of incentive plans.
  • Proficient in working with large data sets to process analysis and draw conclusions and make recommendations based on findings.
  • High level of computer knowledge particularly Excel.
  • Some knowledge of payroll systems such as Kronos, ADP, etc. and other HMC databases.
  • Experience with significant change management activities preferred, openness to change.
