CAD Technician

The CAD Technician (Draftsman) uses CAD systems to create, support and improve design plans for parts and assemblies. Works with a team that primarily focuses on product support and improvement.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Works with Product Support Engineers to observe and determine an immediate and/or long-term solution for assembly line issues to keep lines running smoothly as possible and current product issues to satisfy Wahl's customers.
• Works on part design, assembly/construction, performance specifications and testing that may include deviation of product and reworking of parts.
• Engaged in any need for CAD drafting, modeling, assembly and analysis including fit interference, draft, measurement & experimental design.
• Works with Product Support Engineers on projects mostly including but not limited to CAD, measuring parts, product testing & LTRs (Lab Test Request), gauge design or redesign, fixture design or redesign, SLA orders, new vendor part evaluation, cost savings, ECNs (Engineering Change Notice) and customer complaint evaluation & resolution.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associates Degree in drafting/mechanical/engineering or related field required
• 1-3 years of experience is required
• Strong Computer Aided Design skills, Unigraphics skills preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written presentation
• Working knowledge of computer programs including MS Office
