Blade Engineer Internship Fall 2020

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Blade Engineer Intern at our headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

Job duties/Responsibilities

1. Assist the Engineers on high impact process improvement projects
2. Supports new product and implementation process in the Blade Manufacturing area
3. Works with the operations team on a regular basis for conducting experiments
4. Data collection and organizing data for team discussions
5. Work on multiple areas of manufacturing to gain overall understanding of manufacturing process

Internship Timeframe:

October 2020 December 2020

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited university

Engineering Major, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer preferred

Ability to commute to and from Sterling, IL. 

Expected Key Learnings (What can they add to their resume after working here? What skills should they learn from the primary project?):

• Learn about overall Blade manufacturing process and day to day operations
• Learn about new technologies, equipment
• Learn to collaborate with cross functional teams
• Honing skills on effective problem-solving techniques

Anticipated percentage of time spent on the primary project vs. daily tasks of recording activities:

50% independent = collecting data, organizing data into deliverable format for group discussions

50% dependent = group discussions, working with engineers, operators, and various supervision on improvement opportunities
