Associate Packaging Engineer

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensures product specification accuracy and system development and creates specification documents for packaging, testing protocol and testing.
• Creates die-line for plastic packaging blister cards, helps create and develop sealing dies for blisters and ensures quality performance of blister sealing equipment.
• Designs packaging, point of purchase displays and develops packaging/point of purchase prototypes.
• Works with Industrial Engineer on work flow regarding packaging, sealing, stacking and warehousing.
• Install and manage CAPE packaging management software which will assist in pallet maximization in warehouse and on trucks and product maximization on containers for Sterling and with Wahl Ningbo as necessary.
• Works with U.S. and Asian packaging suppliers ensuring timely flow of packaging prototypes and increase efficiency of flow.
• Looks for cost reduction opportunities and packaging consolidation opportunities and works to maximize case efficiencies.
• Keeps Consumer Marketing abreast of the latest packaging technologies and participates in customer packaging and sustainability events.
• Designs packaging as customer friendly as possible while retaining anti-theft prevention at retail level.
• Input specifications into Salsify and ERP system.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering (Packaging, Mechanical, or other similar technical Degree preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience working in packaging or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with other packaging engineers and suppliers
• Experience in Solidworks and or ArtiosCAD knowledge is preferred.
• Experience working with numerous packaging Processes/materials (Corrugate, Thermoform, injection molding, etc.) preferred.
• Packaging of electronic good industry is a plus.
• Experience working with Tops, Cape, or other Pallet design software preferred.
