Accounting Clerk

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk-Cash Applications at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

This position is responsible for posting various types of payments to customer accounts which come in the form of cash, checks, lockbox, credit card, wires, and ACH payments. This position will also need to problem solve invoices and deductions with efficient communication to appropriate parties to keep customer accounts clean.

PRINCPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Accurately and timely records payments to Customer accounts. Including ACH, Wires, Checks, Credit Cards, etc.
• Accurately and timely records deductions to Customer accounts.
• Researches and resolves issues with Customer payments and deductions to ensure proper posting and accurate Customer account balances.
• Assists in resolving open invoice items in accounts receivable.
• Communicates with customer and sales representatives in regard to outstanding balances.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records, in support of the Accounting Department.
• Performs other work as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associates degree in Accounting preferred, or two to three years accounts receivable experience with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Must be detail oriented and have ability to use Microsoft computer applications. Experience with D365 computer system a plus.
