2nd Shift Shipping/Warehouse Laborer

JOB SUMMARY:

Delivers and receives lots, parts, etc. to and from other departments, moves material to and from designated areas and completes shipping procedures after orders are released.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

This position reports directly to the Shipping/Warehouse Foreman. There are no subordinates to this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.The Warehouse Laborer utilizes the computer, calculators and radio frequency guns to verify part numbers and quantities for internal distribution/receipt of parts and distributes parts to proper departments/storage locations using forklift, pallet lifts and company vehicles.

2. Moves material to and from designated areas and completes shipping procedures after orders are released. Will be required to process shipments via UPS Line, Automatic Label Line, and LTL Freight area.

3. The Warehouse Laborer utilizes the computer, calculators, and radio frequency guns to verify part numbers and make the proper transactions to move inventory.

4. The Warehouse Laborer loads and unloads trucks and skids of finished products and properly stores the products, uses box knives to make boxes for outgoing shipments and retrieves products to be shipped. Utilizes the computer, calculator, and radio frequency guns to check availability of products, storage locations, and to maintain accurate inventory levels.

5. The Warehouse Laborer physically unloads trucks and skids of finished products and properly stores the products, uses box knives and steel blades to make boxes for outgoing shipments and retrieves products to be shipped. Utilizes the computer, calculator and radio frequency guns to check availability of products, storage locations and to maintain accurate inventory levels. Delivers material/products to various departments using forklifts, pallet lifts and company vehicles.

6. The Warehouse Laborer verifies cartons being shipped have the proper products and quantities. Part number(s), quantity and product(s) on back order are verified against the packing list. This position wraps, packs or places on skids cartons for shipment using proper shipping methods, places required shipping labels on cartons, weighs cartons for proper postage and physically loads containers onto hand trucks.

7. Uses forklifts and pallet lifts to assist in moving cartons.

8. The Warehouse Laborer acts as a backup to the Incoming Receiving Clerk. This position receives freight, checks for correct quantities/damaged goods and signs for freight received. Utilizes computer to determine proper storage location(s), uses forklift, pallet lifts and company vehicles to place freight in storage locations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Distributes/transfers and receives parts internally ensuring proper part number(s) and quantities.
2. Unloads finished products and places in proper storage and moves material/products to various departments.
3. Prepares containers for shipment.
4. Maintains proper inventory levels and storage locations by use of the computer.
5. Performs duties of Incoming Receiving Clerk in their absence.
6. Maintains neat and orderly department.
7. Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/GED required. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. constantly and rarely lift 50 lbs. Must have knowledge and ability to use and/or learn the appropriate computer applications/calculator/radio frequency guns, basic math and organizational skills required. Must have a valid driver's license, must be or willing to become forklift licensed. Able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day. Frequent reaching, bending and pulling. If working with 3M product, this position must have GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training.
